NumberLab ("the app") respects your privacy. This policy explains what information the app handles and how. The app's game features — entering, solving and auto-generating Sudoku, and reading a board from the camera — all run entirely on your device. The only data sent off-device is what is needed to show ads.
In short: the puzzles, progress and notes you create are stored only on this device and are never sent to the developer or any server. Network access happens solely to serve ads.
01Information we handle
What the developer does not collect
The app asks for no personal information (no name, email or account) and does not collect your boards, progress, notes or captured images. These are stored only on your device.
Information collected for ads
The app uses Google AdMob to serve ads. AdMob and Google may automatically process information to deliver, measure and protect ads, including:
- Device identifiers such as the Advertising ID
- IP address and approximate location
- Device information (model, OS version) and ad interaction data
This processing follows Google's policies. See How Google uses information from sites or apps that use its services.
02Camera and photos
The camera is used to read a Sudoku board. Photos and intermediate images are processed on-device and are never stored or transmitted. Only the recognized digits (the board data) are saved on your device.
03Advertising
The app shows rewarded ads (ads you choose to watch). Watching is optional, and every feature works whether or not you watch. Ads are served by Google AdMob.
Depending on your region, you may receive personalized or non-personalized ads. In the EEA, the UK, Switzerland and similar regions, a consent form (Google's User Messaging Platform) is shown as required by law, and your choice is respected.
04Managing the Advertising ID / opt-out
You can disable or reset ad personalization at any time from your device settings:
- Android: Settings → Privacy → Ads → "Delete advertising ID" or "Opt out of Ads Personalization".
Resetting or deleting the Advertising ID does not affect your ability to use the app.
05Third-party services
The app uses the following third-party service:
Each provider's own policy governs how it handles information.
06Data retention and deletion
Your puzzle data is stored only on your device. To delete it, remove puzzles inside the app or uninstall the app. Any file created by the backup feature (CSV export) exists only where you saved it; the developer has no access to it.
07Children's privacy
The app is not primarily directed to children (under 13, or under 16 in some regions) and does not knowingly collect personal information from children.
08Your rights
Depending on your region (e.g. GDPR, Japan's APPI), you may have rights to access, delete or restrict processing of information. For ad-related data, use the opt-out options above and Google's policies. For any questions, contact us below.
09Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as features or laws change. For significant changes, the "Last updated" date on this page will be revised.
